Ebates Orbitz 20% off DISNEY TICKETS FAIL!

UPDATED:
Ebates responded and said Orbitz controls the percentage and how long they post it which sounds kind of fishy because if that were the case, why not post the same percentages across all the different cashback sites?  Everyone knows the cashback sites have to have some flexibility in what they offer....

Also, bought the other 2 tickets I needed through befrugal...before checking cashbackholic!  Almost made another mistake there, but turns out befrugal is still the best % return.

Lesson learned, when you get sight of a good deal, do it then, don't wait more than 24 hours, because the deal will die and then what....lack of buyer's remorse sets in.  Here's what happened.

Word on the web said Ebates was offering 20% off Orbitz activities.  Orbitz activities sells Disney tickets.  I need Disney tickets.

Proper Steps:
  1. Sign up for Ebates.com using someone's referral link. (Scroll down to the bottom of the site for my referral links!)
  2. Sign up for Orbitz.com using someone's referral link (Scroll down to the bottom of the site for my referral links!)
  3. Sign into ebates and search orbitz.  Click through to orbitz.
  4. Login to orbitz and search disney under activities.  Pick your tickets (discounted already from regular disney prices so you are winning all around)
  5. Buy them using a credit card that gives you cash or points for travel (e.g., Amex costco card)
  6. Track your cashback - 20%!!!!
Actual Steps
  1. Yup, did step 1 & 2, no problem!
  2. Yup, did this and saw deal expires March 3, 2014.
  3. Hemmed and hawwed. Did lots of consulting with family members. Watched TV.  Slept.
  4. 5 days later went to buy the tickets - oh no!  Ebates expired the deal EARLY!!!
  5. Sent ebates an email saying WTF?  No response.
  6. Searched cashbackholic.com for another good cashback site. Settled upon befrugal.com
  7. Signed up for befrugal.     (My referrals at bottom of the page!)
  8. Clicked through to orbitz.  Bought 1 ticket and not the 3 I need.  Why?*
  9. Track my cashback - 5% (already confirmed I get 2% back on Amex Costco card so total savings is 7%)
  10. Already saving $45 off Disney regular prices, so ticket will be discounted (if cashback comes through) another $21 for a $66 savings.  My loss by not getting the 20% = $35 per ticket.  sigh.
*Why?  Well, because I'm weird that way.  I'm hoping I get some magical email from ebates that says, "because you emailed us, we'll give you the 20% if you purchase now".  Or maybe, tomorrow, a better cashback will show up for orbitz, sigh.  I know, I can't wait long because Disney upped their prices last week but Orbitz is still showing the old prices, so if I wait too long, Orbitz will just go up and I'll lose even more savings.

Next Steps:
  1. Figure out best discount to buy disney gift cards (so far, I can get 5%, so any better options, please let me know!)
  2. Use disney gift cards to buy stuff while on Disney Trip OR
  3. To pay to upgrade Orbitz purchased ticket to greater number of days or annual pass
